Los Angeles River

I took these pictures on a recent trip to Silver Lake, California. First day, I visited and took some pictures of a camellia and koi carp at Descanso Gardens, La Ganada Flintridge, California. Later I took a sunset and Los Angeles skyline pictures from Griffith Park. Next day, I walked with my friend and host along the Los Angeles River. I took pictures of herons, cormorants, and riders on horseback. I was surprised to see wildlife and horseback riders in an urban environment. Interstate-5 parallels the Los Angeles River. From the freeway, you are not aware of the variety of nature and activity on the river as it flows through the metropolitan area to the Pacific Ocean.
