Prospecting for California Gold: Fall Color.

Here are some pictures I took on a recent road trip to California’s Eastern Sierra. The trip started in Stockton, California, going east on CA Highway 120 to US Highway 395 ending in Bishop, California. The return trip was on CA Highway 108 over the Sonora Pass to Stockton. Stops and picture taking included Obsidian Dome near Mammoth Lakes, Owens River Valley, Bishop Creek Canyon, and the eastern slope of CA HWY 108. Most of the pictures were taken in Inyo and Mono Counties. For me, it’s always a delight and joy to see the brilliant fall colors in the Eastern Sierra.

  1. Some beautiful color already. We just got back from WV. No color yet except for a few maples beginning to turn. Headed for Florida tomorrow. Wanda

  2. Oh my goodness – your photos of the fall foliage along California’s Eastern Sierra are spectacular! I enjoyed them all! Thank you for sharing!🍁🍂🍁

    • Thanks Susan. Bishop Creek Canyon in the California Eastern Sierra is one of the most awesome places to view fall color.
