Water Hyacinths in a Delta Slough, California

Just after sunrise, I took these photos of water hyacinths in a slough near the Middle River in the San Joaquin River Delta. I found these scenic spots along Bacon Island Road off of Highway 4 near Stockton, California. Mount Diablo is the mountain in the background and the railway draw bridge is over the Middle River. Although the water pond hyacinths are beautiful, they frequently clogged the waterways here in the Delta.

    • Thanks! You’re welcome. Happy to share. The early morning light was beautiful. It was worth waking up at 4:30 am to be on the Delta at dawn.
