About Me

Road to Benton Hot Springs

My name is Derrell McCain. I’m a retired teacher living in Stockton, California. Retirement has given me an opportunity to change careers. Now I’m pursuing a life long hobby as a career: outdoor photography.  My intent is to post travel notes about where I take these pictures.  My equipment includes a Nikon D200, a D300s, and a VW Eurovan to roam around Northern California to seek out great scenic spots to photograph. Photography is a different way of practicing meditation for me. My favorite spots include the Eastern Sierra along US Scenic Highway 395, Pacific Coast Highway and The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Always appreciate comments, thoughts and recommendations of scenic spots to explore and to take pictures of. If you would like to see these images and more, click on the link below:

Pressing issues that have limited my involvement are no more, so I’m moving forward as of this post. Thanks for the inspiration.
