I took these photos of mustard plant blooms along N Guard Road and Thornton Road on my way to Cosumnes Preserve. The last three photos shows some of the overflow of water from the Cosumnes River. It was a delightful spring sunny day.

I took these photos of some sandhill cranes and an egret on the first dry day after an atmospheric river had just passed by the area. The wildlife seemed to be enjoying and to be taking advantage of a sunny day. For me, it’s always a pleasure to watch the cranes, geese, and egret in the Preserve.
Here are seven photos of sandhill cranes and cackling geese that I took at Staten Island Preserve near Thorton and Walnut Grove, California. These cranes and greese are migratory wild-birds on one of the stops along the Pacific Flyway. For me, I enjoy watching them and photographing them. It was a beautiful day in The Delta.
I began on Suisun Valley Road, Suisun Valley, California where I took a photo of a vineyard. Then I drove along Shiloh Road to take two photos of mustards with Mount Diablo in the background and some wind towers. Again I took another group of wind towers along Birds Landing Road. The next day I took three photos of snow geese and seagulls along Desmond Road in Cosumnes River Preserve. The last photo I took of swans and ducks along Woodbridge Road near the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve. It was a pleasant winter outing with signs of early spring.
Here are two groups of photos that I took of returning Sandhill Cranes and other wildbirds on the Pacific Flyway in the Sacramento River Delta Region in California. All the photos were taken along Woodbridge Road and Staten Island Road in The Delta. There were some Sandhill Cranes, a blue heron, some snow geese, an egret, and a snowy egret that I found in nearby ecological preserves. For me, it’s always a joy to see the migratory birds return in the fall and winter months.
Here are ten images that I took of snow geese at Staten Island Preserve, California. The snow geese are among the last migratory arrivals here in The Delta which is part of the Pacific Flyway. They will soon be leaving to return north for the summer season. For me they are fun and colorful to watch and to photograph.
Here are 16 photos that I took of wildlife at the Staten Island Preserve in the Sacramento River Delta Region, California. I took some on December 27 when the winter moon was approaching fullness. The rest I took on December 29 when the winter moon was full. For me, I always mentally engaged when I’m photographing wild birds in the Preserve. It’s fun for me. Happy New Year 2021!
I took these ten images on a recent visit to the Sacramento River Delta Region. The wildlife and sunset images that I took are in the Staten Island Preserve, near Walnut Grove, California.
I always enjoy visiting The Delta. It intrigues me with sights and sounds of wildlife on the Pacific Flyway.
Here are seven images that I took last Sunday of cackling geese in flight and sandhill cranes feeding in flooded corn fields. It was a beautiful cool fall day.
Here are nine photos that I took of wild birds in Staten Island Preserve and Woodbridge Ecological Reserve in California. Geese and sandhill cranes have recently arrived in the Delta here. These wildlife refuges are part of the Pacific Flyway.
