I took these photos of the covered bridge over the Stanislaus at Knights Ferry near Oakdale, California on Highway 120. It was a beautiful, sunny day there.

Above are seven photos that I took in Calaveras Big Trees State Park, California. There were only a few remaining dogwood blooms left there when I arrived. For me it’s always a delight and restful to wander around the North Trail in the park.
I took these photos of lupines at Beeks Bight on Folsom Lake last April 1, 2022. The weather was ideal: sunny, warm, blue sky, and with a wind speed of 3 mph. Of course there were plenty of lupines in bloom. I had a wonderful time taking photos there.
On a recent visit to Florida, I took these 14 photos in Central Florida. I started taking some photos in Oldsmar, Florida. As well, I took more photos in nearby parks as John Chestnut Sr. Park in Palm Harbor, Florida; Upper Tampa Bay Park in Tampa, Florida; Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, Florida. I took the sunset photos at Howard Park Beach in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I had a wonderful time visiting and taking photos in Central Florida.
I took some pictures of the coastline along the Pacific Coast Highway. I started at Wilder Ranch State Park taking pictures as I rode my bicycle along their bike trail. The bike trail follows the coastline along the edge of the cliffs overlooking the rocky coves and beaches. Later after eating a calamari sandwich on the pier, I took a picture of Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Then I decided to take the long way back to Stockton following US Highway 1 around the peninsular to cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Along the way, I stopped at a beach where people were flying kites to surf to take more pictures. On the last stop, I took a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge in the late afternoon. A great escape from the heat of the Central Valley this summer.
Here are ten pictures that I took of poppies and other wildflowers while driving up the road to the summit of Mount Diablo State Park, California. I went in the south gate and left by the north gate. I experienced great sunny weather and beautiful scenic views along the way. I went on a weekday so little traffic and crowds. But I did see other photographers taking pictures and watercolor artists busy sketching and painting.
Here are a few pictures I took while visiting Big Trees State Park, California. To get there, follow Highway 4 toward the Sierra. The park has a new visitor center and a pleasant trail through the giant sequoias. Also I took some pictures of the Stanislaus River that passes through the park. I used a Nikon D600 FX with a Nikkor 20 mm wide angle lens. Fortunately for me, there were still some dogwoods blooming among the giant redwoods.
Here are some pictures I took visiting John Muir National Historic Site in Martinez, California. I used a Panasonic Lumix – GF3 mirrorless camera. His home is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture. It’s a intriguing glimpse into the life of John Muir and the age and period he lived in.
Here are some pictures that I took on a drive with friends in The Delta. We visited Locke Historical State Park along Sacramento River. We stopped for lunch at Giusti’s Place, Walnut Grove, CA. It’s a farmland roadhouse serving food and drink in the California Delta since 1910. I used a Nikon D600 camera with a Nikon 24 to 85 mm lens. We enjoyed beautiful weather, pretty flowers, and delicious food along the way.
