Almond Blossoms in The Central Valley, California

While driving around near French Camp, California, I took these six photos of almond orchards blooming there. It was a beautiful, sunny day.  For me, the almonds blossoms are a sure indication that spring is arriving soon. The almond orchards around French Camp and Lathrop tend to bloom during the last two weeks of February.

I took three pictures of the almond orchards not far from French Camp Road near Lathrop, California. The last picture I took while watching the sunset over the San Joaquin River. In the background is Mount Diablo. I was sitting on the March Lane Levee Road, Stockton, California. I used a Nikon D600 FX DSLR along with a Nikkor 50 mm 1.8 prime lens and a Nikkor 60 mm micro 2.8 lens. It fascinates me to watch bees pollinate the almond blossoms. Nice to finish a day with a colorful sunset.

I took these pictures of an almond orchard along Highway 99 near
Lathrop, California. I used a Nikon D300s with a wide angle Nikon DX 12-24 mm lens for the trees and a Nikon micro 60 mm lens for the close-ups of the blossoms. The Central Valley almond orchards are a source of much of the commercially cultivated almonds in the world. Here are some fresh almonds on their way to you!
