Here are seven photos of sandhill cranes and cackling geese that I took at Staten Island Preserve near Thorton and Walnut Grove, California. These cranes and greese are migratory wild-birds on one of the stops along the Pacific Flyway. For me, I enjoy watching them and photographing them. It was a beautiful day in The Delta.

Here are ten images that I took of snow geese at Staten Island Preserve, California. The snow geese are among the last migratory arrivals here in The Delta which is part of the Pacific Flyway. They will soon be leaving to return north for the summer season. For me they are fun and colorful to watch and to photograph.

Here are five photos that I took on Woodbridge Road near the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve, Lodi, California. We’re near the end of the migratory birds stay in this Pacific Flyway. Most of them start leaving in January. So here’s a sunset towards the end of their stay for the 2019 season. They will return fall of 2020.

Cranes and Geese Share the Preserve
I took these five photos of sandhill cranes along with cackling geese in two wildlife viewing areas. The first one is Staten Island Preserve and the second one is the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve. Both of these viewing areas are along the Pacific Flyway in the Central Valley, California. These migratory birds seem to delight in their winter home.

As the cornfields are harvested, the migratory wild birds move in to feast. Here are five pictures I took inside the Staten Island Preserve in the Sacramento River Delta Region, California. I’m intrigue to watch so many sandhill cranes and geese eating the leftovers in the cornfields after the harvest.

It’s located in the Sacramento River Delta Region. The nearest town is Walnut Grove, California. The distant mountain in the background is Mount Diablo. It’s another beautiful day in The Delta.
