Winter Moon Over The Delta, California

Here are 16 photos that I took of wildlife at the Staten Island Preserve in the Sacramento River Delta Region, California. I took some on December 27 when the winter moon was approaching fullness. The rest I took on December 29 when the winter moon was full. For me, I always mentally engaged when I’m photographing wild birds in the Preserve. It’s fun for me. Happy New Year 2021!

Sandhill Cranes, Blue Heron, and Egret.

Here are eight images that I took of sandhill cranes, a blue heron, and an egret at Staten Island Preserve, California. The Preserve is near Walnut Grove, California . It is in The Sacramento River Delta Region in the Central Valley. The sandhill cranes have recently arrived for the fall season at this Pacific Flyway.

Tule Fog on White Slough, Stockton, California

Here are five photos that I took from Village West Marina of tule fog on White Slough in Stockton, California. Tule fog is common here in The Delta in the winter season. The blue heron seems to a patience hunter in the dead tree branch along the levee.

Sunset on Woodbridge Road, Lodi, California

Here are five photos that I took on Woodbridge Road near the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve, Lodi, California. We’re near the end of the migratory birds stay in this Pacific Flyway. Most of them start leaving in January. So here’s a sunset towards the end of their stay for the 2019 season. They will return fall of 2020.

Happy New Year 2020!

Here are some pictures that I took from my kayak on Lodi Lake, California. The lake is quiet and serene. There are beautiful wildlife birds in the vicinity.  Also I’m discovering that I can get closer to birds in the kayak. Great fun: kayaking and photography.
