On a recent visit to Calaveras Big Trees State Park, I found this one flowering dogwood tree. I took these photos of it. This one dogwood tree seemed to be at peak bloom. As always, I find beautiful scenery there.

I took these photos of lupines at Beeks Bight on Folsom Lake last April 1, 2022. The weather was ideal: sunny, warm, blue sky, and with a wind speed of 3 mph. Of course there were plenty of lupines in bloom. I had a wonderful time taking photos there.
Here are six pictures I took from the summit and scenic overviews driving along Mount Diablo Scenic Road. I used a Nikon D600 FX with a Nikon 35 mm 1.8 prime lens. Great weather with blue skies and white puffy clouds.
Here are a few pictures I took while visiting Big Trees State Park, California. To get there, follow Highway 4 toward the Sierra. The park has a new visitor center and a pleasant trail through the giant sequoias. Also I took some pictures of the Stanislaus River that passes through the park. I used a Nikon D600 FX with a Nikkor 20 mm wide angle lens. Fortunately for me, there were still some dogwoods blooming among the giant redwoods.
Here are some pictures that I took on a drive with friends in The Delta. We visited Locke Historical State Park along Sacramento River. We stopped for lunch at Giusti’s Place, Walnut Grove, CA. It’s a farmland roadhouse serving food and drink in the California Delta since 1910. I used a Nikon D600 camera with a Nikon 24 to 85 mm lens. We enjoyed beautiful weather, pretty flowers, and delicious food along the way.
Here are more pictures that I took on a recent trip to the Atlantic Coast of Central Florida. The locations include Ponce De Leon Inlet Light Station, Hontoon Island State Park (Island Getaway along the St. John’s River), Tosohatchee State Reserve, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Here are some pictures that I took on a trip to visit family in Central Florida. These pictures are from Honeymoon Island State Park, Egmont Key State Park, Safety Harbor, and the Tampa Bay Sunshine Skyline Bridge. I had a chance to see the real Florida in these parks. Also I soon discovered these parks are a refuge for wildlife and people.
Here are some pictures that I took on a trip to Pismo Beach State Park and Morro Bay on the Central California Coast. I took pictures of people walking along the sandy beach, horseback riders in the surf against the sunset, a spring monarch butterfly in the Eucalyptus Grove, a seagull on a foggy Morro Bay Harbor, two kayaks and a sailboat on a sunny Morro Bay Harbor. I used a Nikon D300s along with a Nikon 18-200 mm DX lens and a Nikon telephoto 80-400 mm lens.
Took these pictures at Bodie State Park, California. It’s located off US Highway 395 between Lee Vining and Bridgeport, CA. I arrived early in the morning before crowds of tourists arrived and the weather was cool. So on an early summer morning, I was able to take pictures without a lot of people in the scenes. I used a Nikon D300s camera with Nikon wide angle lens DX 12-24 and a prime lens DX 35.
Locke Historical District, California State Park, near State Highway 160 on the Sacramento River. The last Chinese Town in California.
Stuck in Sydney posting old photos taken with various camera phones on my world travels. Posting in arty Black and White and includes witty commentary 🇦🇺
