Marine Traffic on the San Joaquin River, California

I took these seven pictures of large marine vessels and motorboats on the San Joaquin River near the Port of Stockton, California. It was a warm beautiful day sitting in my VW Eurovan waiting for boats to pass by.

Tule Fog on White Slough, Stockton, California

Here are five photos that I took from Village West Marina of tule fog on White Slough in Stockton, California. Tule fog is common here in The Delta in the winter season. The blue heron seems to a patience hunter in the dead tree branch along the levee.

Cranes and Geese Share the Preserve

I took these five photos of sandhill cranes along with cackling geese in two wildlife viewing areas. The first one is Staten Island Preserve and the second one is the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve. Both of these viewing areas are along the Pacific Flyway in the Central Valley, California. These migratory birds seem to delight in their winter home.
